The Kano State Government has rescheduled the resumption date for primary and post-primary schools for the start of the 2024/2025 academic session, as announced by Balarade Kiru, Director, Public Enlightenment, Ministry of Education.
He claimed that Umar Doguwa, the Commissioner of Education, had stated that some “urgent reasons” that were not given had forced the decision.
Mr. Kiru cited Mr. Doguwa as stating that the ministry would shortly release a new date.
I would like to notify parents, students, and students that the announcement regarding the start of classes on September 8 and 9, 2024, has been postponed. This is because there are several pressing issues that will contribute to enhancing the environment in which our kids can study. In due course, the director stated, a new date for the restart will be disclosed.
Nonetheless, Mr. Kiru urged everyone in question—students, parents, and guardians in particular—to accept any hardships that may have resulted from the postponement. Rest assured that the ministry is working diligently to ensure a smooth transition and will provide updates as soon as possible. Your understanding and cooperation during this time are greatly appreciated.
