Some suspected bandits armed with deadly weapons invaded the private residence of a medical officer Aminu Sidi a renown gynaecologist working in Jangebe district at around 1:00am on Monday and shot him dead.
A family source who attended the burial of the deceased informed this medium that the bandits firstly came to the family house of the medical officer on target but when they could not find him they moved to his private residence.
On arrival they attempted to break into his house but because of the difficulty entering through his house directly they broken one of the perimeter fence of one of his neigbours and entered the house.
The source said up till the time when the deceased was buried, the actual circumstances leading to his killing by the bandits was not made known but relations were suspecting that his refusal to cooperate with the bandits may caused him his sudden death.
They also moved with his two wives and four childrenafter they brutally killed him.
The source added that one of his neighbours namely Yariman Jangebe attempted to offer help when he noticed that something wrong was going on but he was eventually abducted by the same bandits.
They were also alleged to have abducted unspecified number of people alongside the families of the slain medical officer during the operation.
The source added that the military operatives stationed in Jangebe attempted to repel the attack but they were ambushed by the bandits who opened fire on their operational vehicle.
The military vehicles was eventually set ablaze after the soliders escaped the ambushed.
The deceased was buried at around 9:00am on Monday at his Jangebe country home.
Zamfara police spokesman DSP Yazeed Muhammad could not be reached for comment as at the time of filing this report.
