The Chairman of Zamfara State Security Trust Fund, retired IGP of police MD Abubakar has led members of his team for a courtesy visits to Tsafe and Maru Emirate Councils.
Mr Abubakar while addressing the Emirs insisted that as body responsible for the management of security funds in the state they saw the need to reach out to critical stakeholders, especially the traditional rulers in order to seek for effective collaboration.
He noted that since the organization was newly established, there is the strong need to continue to sensitize the public on its statutory functions.
He recalled that part of the mandate of the Security Trust Fund is conducting critical assessment of the security challenges facing the state, effective sharing of intelligence as well as procurement of security gadgets for the successful operation of the security forces.
He used the opportunity of the visit to consoles with the Emirs over several incidences of armed banditry related problems that befalls their people and pray for the lives of those that were killed during the scenarios.
In their separate remarks, Emirs of Maru Alh Gado Mai Gari and that of Tsafe Alh Muhammad Bawa expressed happiness with the visit of the committee and promised to give all the needed support for it to succeed.
They informed the MD and his team members that at Emirate level they have already commences special prayers seeking for the divine intervention over the lingering security challenges confronting their people, noting that their prayers had already started yielding positive result.
