Information circulating all over the social media indicated that forces of the Nigerian military had killed one of the notorious bandit leader Habibi Buzu alias (Sububu) along Zamfara forest on Thursday.
The bandit leader who has been terrorizing many parts of the North West was killed in a gunfire exchange between the operatives of the Nigerian military and the bandit groups in between Dogon Karfe and Mayanchi junction of Maru and Anka local government areas of Zamfara state.
According to one of the community source interviews by the BBC Hausa service, Mannir Fura Girke the security forces got wind of an intelligent information that a bandit kingpin was crossing through that route with his large entourage of over (60) bandit operators and laid ambush on him.
It was as a result of fire exchange between the military operatives and group bandit Halilu and many of his commanders were killed.
Fura Girke further said “over (20) motorcycles were recovered with several numbers of deadly weapons”.
Report by PR Nigeria states that Sububu masterminded the bombing of DSS helicopter two months back.
Reports has it that Kachalla leads all bandit kingpins across the North-West Geo political zone and one of the renown armorer in the region.
He is allegedly involved in illegal mining activities in many parts of Zamfara and he was among those terrorist leaders declared wanted by the Nigerian security forces.
His killing will surely raise serious hope among the people of Zamfara, Sokoto and Katsina; hence the operation declared against armed bandits by the Federal government may likely bring an end to the bandit excesses.
The military and indeed the Nigerian government are yet to issue an official statement confirming the successes recorded during the Thursday operation which led to the murder of Kachalla Halilu and his gang of criminal boys.
