It will not be out of point to say that “all is not well” within the Zamfara APC as new political movement within the party emerged.
The movement is led by Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa faction and from the look of things the reasons behind it may be more delicate than the political catastrophe that led to the massive failure or rather political crash of the party, and it’s victory in the 2019 and 2023 elections.
A few months back there had been a Pandora of crises leading to the suspension of the state party Chairman Tukur Umar Danfulani over what some of those that suspended him refer to as “political incapacitation”.
His suspension according to the political analysts brought to the public the seeming lack of readiness of the party to learn lessons from the defeat of the 2023 election where a seating Governor aided by three other former Governors and all other political machinery was shamelessly unseated by someone they used to refer to as “primary school student” in a political movement.
The 2023 defeat according to some analysts emerged because of the failure of the political actors within the Zamfara APC to simply learn lessons from the experience of the 2019 election where the party lost the whole (33) elected positions to the opposition PDP courtesy of the Supreme Court verdict as at that time.
Before now many serious minded person may not take Zamfara APC serious because it’s major political drivers simply do not learn lessons from the history and may be because the drivers always work out their alternatives from the seat of power in Abuja, they don’t normally bothered about the consequences of the crises surrounding the party.
To bring the Zamfara APC crises into more clearer perspective, this last Saturday faction of the party led by the Minister of state Defense and indeed Sen. Yari begins what they called “monthly APC stakeholders meeting” which was as usual conducted at the (14) local government headquarters.
The objective of the meeting according to narrations coming from the various forums of the meeting was bringing together all stakeholders of the party into a round table to regularly discuss party matters and ensure unity of the members of the party.
From the statements coming from party stakeholders during the last meeting one will understand that even those within the Yari and Matawalle camps are not so much satisfied with the safety of the political journey embarked upon by the APC under the watchful eyes of these two political leaders Sen. Abdulaziz Yari and Bello Matawalle.
Former Commissioner of Information Ibrahim Danmalikin Gidan Goga for instance lambasted the Minister of state Defense over his failure to use his powers to end the killings and series of abductions going on in Zamfara State and indeed his country home Maradun.
He also accused Sen. Yari of abandoning his political actors on matters related to the distribution of Ramadan and Sallah gestures which he instead used the committee of Islamic scholars whom he also accused of doing wrong things in Maradun where he came from.
But the controversial dynamic to the APC crises is the conduct of another factional stakeholders meeting of APC in Kaduna led by Sen. Kabiru Garba Marafa.
Marafa in a simple language argued that since the APC stakeholders called on Saturday isolated his political group, he has no option than to form another movement within the party so that he and his team will continue to fight the cause of justice.
His body language during the Kaduna meeting is an indicator that a lot more trouble await the APC Zamfara knowing his political antecedent since 2019 and his ability to sustain what he started especially where he has the strongest conviction that justice has not been done to him and his followers.
He is known to be a political warrior who does not give up to his struggle especially where he think injustice is done.
Now where has the Jaji political group belongs in this crises? Many observers said, Jaji who is leading the “Jajiya political movement” is already into a political race that will never follow the paths of Yari and Minister Bello Matawalle.
There is the strong belief that he may soon call his own factional meeting to chart the way forward for his supporters; hence he is already a finger -pointed political hero that constitutes serious threat to the Matawalle and Yari factions.
His recent political debacle leading to his “alleged” suspension by the Tukur Danfulani faction of the APC and what followed afterward remain an established “political hypothesis” that exposed the delicacy of the Zamfara APC crises.
Again, on the likes of Sarkin Dawaki Mai Tuta’s movement one of the potential gubernatorial candidates of the APC in the 2027 elections may also come with another “political threat” to the APC since he sound more serious in heating the ground running for the political competition within the party.
With these pictures painted what will be the likely chances of the APC amidst the productivity performance of the PDP government led by Dauda Lawal as Zamfara Governor?
