Motorists and commuters plying Zamfara entry road from Damba to Lalan has appealed to the Federal Controller of Works to ask Setraco Construction Company to as a matter of urgency move their working facilities to reconstructing the portion of the road starting from Mareri junction to Lalan round about.
The road by estimation is less than half a kilometer dual expressway which has been causing serious havoc on the motorists.
A motorist Alh Yahaya Tsafe who expressed annoyance with the condition of that portion of the road insisted that there is not a single day that will pass without encountering accidents leading to heavy trucks crashing.
The development resulted in commuters suffering from heavy traffic gridlock and unwanted diversions by the motorists entering or exiting Gusau the capital of the state.
Another motorist Shuaibu driver Funtua said even last week one of his colleagues had an accident directly opposite Fulbe Hotel when he crashed into a BUA truck while attempting to dodge a heavy potholes filled with water emanating from the rain that drops.
A private engineer Shehu Samaila who spoke to this medium said; hence the President has approved the upgrade of Zaria-Funtua-Gusau-Sokoto road, it is only rational for the State Controller of Work in Gusau to instruct the Setraco construction company to shift their base and tidy up that small portion of the road since it is part of their jurisdiction so that lives can be saved.
He said motorists would be happy to see that portion of the road tidy up completely than what Setraco are doing a long hundred housing units since essential part of that road is fairly better than the one linking Lalan round about to Mareri junction.
They appealed to the controller of works in Zamfara to intimate the minister over the development in that portion of the road and work toward saving Nigerians from the suffering they encountered along that road.
