An APC Chieftain Sani Abdullahi Wamban Shinkafi has commended the efforts of the Supreme Court judges for protecting the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the will of the People.
Wambai who stated this during a press conference held on Friday in Gusau on Friday insisted that it was unfortunate that the President who is the custodian of the laws of the country had to turn around to show disregard for the decision of the Supreme Court judges over naira redesign policy which is being contested by some Governors in Nigeria.
He therefore urged the President, Attorney General and CBN Governor to respect the pronouncement of the Supreme Court and allow the old naira note to continue circulating.
He noted that it was shameful that learned judges of the Supreme Court had to accused the CBN Governor Mr. Emiefele of abusing the CBN Act, noting that the circumstances call for sober reflection.
He called on the business community and indeed all actors, including the Federal Government, to respect the decision of the apex court by accepting the old Naira as ordered by the court till when the deadline elpases.
