Murtala Muhammad Jangebe has emerged as the new Chairman of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) Abdul Gusau polytechnic Talatar Mafara chapter.
This followed his declaration by the electoral committee headed by Abubakar Sadiq Isah Gora who also announced the emergence of Bilyaminu Auwal as Vice Chairman and Lawali Bello Nahuche as Secretary of the Union.
Others who emerged victorious after the election include Sani Musa who was elected as Welfare Officer and Bashir Labbo elected as the Auditor of the Union.
According to the statement by the Spokesperson of the Polytechnic Aliyu Damri said Mal. Ibrahim Jelaka was elected as treasurer, Mrs Chinasa Ibrahim was also elected as Assistant Secretary, while the position of the Public Relations Officer goes to Umar Bello. Naibi.
In a remark after the declaration of the result, the Chairman of the electoral committee expressed satisfaction with the support offered by the management of the polytechnic in making sure that the conduct of the election was a hitch-free exercise.
He also commended the electorates for their mass turn out and for ensuring maturity in the conduct of the election.
He described the election as the most peaceful in the history of the polytechnic.
Chairman of SSANIP Mal. Sanusi Kaka Talatar Mafara and Chairman of NASUP Bashar Rabiu described the conduct of the election as most impressive.
