The National University Commission has sent in an accreditation committee to ascertain the level of compliance with the statutory guidelines for establishment of private university.
The accreditation committee has been in Gusau since Monday and they have been making interactions with the members of the Planning and Implementation Committee (PIC).
The purpose of the interface is to allow the members of the NUC to assess both the temporary infrastructures put in place by the (PIC) as well the human resource provided for the successful take-off of the University.
According to the Planning and Implementation Committee, the proposed University is going to take off with three faculties and (15) departments cutting across Sciences, Social Sciences and Art courses.
The committee also said the University is going to accord priority to ICT as well as digital proposition to enable its graduates contribute better to the socio-economic transformation of the country.
On the aspect of affordability, the committee for the implementation insisted that the University will be made to be affordable for the children of the poor hence it has take into account the economic indicators of the country.
