We deemed it significant to make this wake-up call to Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara to as a matter of urgency add more visibly eyes on the slow face of the reconstruction work of Lalan-Samaru-Gusau hotel township road.

The idea of re-fixing the road is absolutely very significant one considering the strategic importance of that road to both effective town planning and economic development of the state capital being among one of the busiest road in Gusau the capital city.

But to be candid, the company has not been applying the same morale it has started it’s work in Zamfara since last year and from what we are observing and also from the public perception and judgement the construction firm Ronches has reduced the number of operational vehicles, equipments, and even staff working on that road

The few number of operational staff seen on that road on the daily basis do not speak well about how serious the company is in trying to complete that township road project.

The people of Samaru area have been suffering in trying to access their houses places of works or businesses as well suffers lack of free movement along that road at all time.

Again, for a month now, one can still meet same company personnel in same location without any visible progress to show that this project is going to end soonest.

One painful part of their work is that the construction company have refused to always make use of water to lower the dust emanating from the movement of the vehicles, a circumstance that always affects women at home who always battles with the dust while cooking, and drying their clothes after washing.

It is our clarion call for the Governor to renew commitment in making sure that the Ronches construction company has done what is needed to ensure that this critical road project is completed.

If it is a funding issue, the Governor may ask the client ministry to represent this matter to the state executive council for them to make special provisions for funds to be released to this company since I am sure there is enough provision in the 2024 appropriation to take care of that road.

If it is not the fault of the government, then the Governor should also allow for state executive Council resolution to give the company Ronches time frame for the completion of that project.

It is really long overdue and government need to take the health and safety of its people very seriously.

Or if the company in lacking in terms of capacity the job shall be revoked and be given to another competent firm.

We lauded the idea of leasing part of their job to Triacta and everyone who passes through Tudun Wada round about to Investment house square will agree with us that Triacta is more than serious to finish it’s part of the road project.

This is the demonstration of how serious a construction firm should be at all time meeting the demands of his client with relative peace.

We think this call will reach the eyes and ears of the Governor and Zamfara people await to see real action.
