Some armed bandits had succeeded in killing a Divisional Police Officer, a police operatives and a member of vigilante group in Maru local government area of Zamfara State.
A source who confided on this medium said, the bandits who came with full force intended to launch a deadly attack on the people of Maru town before they were confronted by the armed police officers led by DPO Kazeem Raheem where police inspector attached to the division and a vigilante were also killed during the Saturday attack a source added.
He added that, many of the residents who were seriously scared took to the run as they suspected a serious ambush from the armed bandits.
Mr Kazeem Raheem the DPO, Inspector Bagobiri and one vigilante member Shehu Chaku were those killed during the attack” a source added.
It was reliably gathered that, the bandits succeeded in abducting some number of innocent people to their camps.
Zamfara State Police Command through their Spokesperson SP Shehu Muhammad confirmed the incident to newsmen through a press statement issued on Sunday.
