Some suspected political thugs armed with sticks and cutlass have attacked one of the political supporter of Sen. Kabiru Garba Marafa Shamsu Kasida in Gusau on Friday.
In an exclusive interview with the victim, Kasida said, he was attacked at the parking space of Yandoto Food Palace by one Danda Jan Wuya who was formally a supporter of Sen. Marafa but defected to the Bello Matawalle faction of the APC.
Kasida said,“ I have finished eating from Yandoto food Palace when they attacked me, crashed my vehicle and started using hard objects to hit at my body all over, and they have not even hidden their identity”.
According to Kasida, he has already lodged a formal complaint against the perpetrators at the central police station and explained that he and other stakeholders have followed it up with the police to ensure that justice is done .
Spokesperson of Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa Bello Bakyasuwa on the other hand said the APC faction of Bello Matawalle in Zamfara has already opened up a “political war” against both the opposition, the opponents within the APC and even the media practitioners and that the security agencies, especially the police need to do what is necessary by arresting the culprits since their identity is known before the situation gets out of hand.
“The identity of these gang of political thugs is known they moved around freely molesting people using vehicles that carried pictures of the Governor and their factional party chairman and both the government and security agencies are reluctant in getting the situation arrested”.
He said as political party they have begun to cast doubt on the sincerity of the security agencies, especially the police in addressing the recent political thuggery which is past growing in the state.
But in a swift reaction to the allegation by the Spokesperson of Sen. Marafa APC Publicity Secretary Governor Bello Matawalle faction Mal. Yusuf Idris said it was Shamsu Kasida and his people that first attacked Danda Janwuya when he went to the food palace to buy food, and his people also fought back in defense.
He said what happened at the parking space of Yandoto food Palace it was purely an extension of anger which resulted from the defection of Danda Janwuya from the Marafa faction to that Governor Bello Matawalle.
