There are some judicial staff in Zamfara who are being paid the sum of 7,500 naira as basic salary while state civil servants from other ministries in the state are receiving a basic salary of 15,000 naira.
Chairman of Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria Zamfara State branch Comrade Abdul Nasir Dan Baba while justifying reasons for embarking on indefinite strike action nationwide at a Thunder Blowers TV show DA-WACHE-KAZO on Tuesday.
He said part of their agitation was for the state government to stabilize an equated salary as well as pays union members their earned peculiar allowances.
On the autonomy of the judiciary the Chairman said, the union has been battling to ensure the enforcement of section 121(3) of the constitution 19999 as amended, but governments at all levels have refused to heed to the constitutional demand of the members of the union.
He further said the union secured a court verdict from Justice Ademola Adeniyi which asked the federal government and Attorney Generals of the 36 states and FCT to ensure compliance with the provision of the section 212(3) of theconstitution but they all refused to heed to the court order.
He noted that to the best of his knowledge neither the federal government nor states appeal the judgment of Justice Ademola Adeniyi and for that the union stand by that judgment.
On the non implementation of the executive order (10) by the Attorney General of the Federation, the Chairman said the AGF should be in better position to explain to the Nigerians since the order instructed him to effect deduction from the source for any state that failed to remit the money meant for the state judicial arms.
He noted further that, the former NBA Chairman of the state Bello Galadi has reached out to the union today on the need for them to suspend the strike action but explained that it was too late since it was an order from the national body of the union.
