The nomination costs for the chairperson and councillorship slots were set by the commission at N10 million and N5 million, respectively. The chairman emphasized the importance of adhering to the new deadline to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process. He also mentioned that the commission will be closely monitoring the nomination process to prevent any irregularities. The candidates had protested about the outrageous nomination costs.

Despite the candidates’ protests, the commission remained steadfast.
