An APC Chieftain in Zamfara Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi has described the letter by the Labour Party asking Nigerians to take over the INEC National Collation Center on Wednesday as unpatriotic.
Shinkafi who stated this in Gusau on Tuesday during a Press Conference insisted that the Labour Party and indeed Mr. Peter Obi knew what to do if they were dissatisfied with the electoral process.
He said if the Labour Party and indeed all the candidates that participated in the poll feel they are not satisfied with the conduct of the INEC they should have to head to court and seek for redress instead of raising unnecessary tension in the country.
He recalled that Peter Obi is a beneficiary of the court decisions and it is expected that he will do the needful by heading to court if he think INEC has not done well but not asking people to go violent.
He also called on the national peace committee headed by former President Abdulsalam Abubakar to intervene before things go out of hand.
“The electoral laws and indeed all other regulations guiding the conduct of the elections have clearly provided guidelines for candidates who have reservations regarding the conduct of the polls to go to court and seek for redress, so doing anything in the contrary will amount to sabotaging the laws of Nigeria and that should not be allowed.
