Ebonyi State government employees rejoiced as Governor Francis Nwifuru approved the payment of a minimum wage of seventy thousand naira.
During the Ojiji Izhi New Yam Festival 2024 grand finale, Governor Nwifuru made the announcement. He gave the pertinent government agencies the task of creating the procedures for putting the new minimum wage into effect, which is scheduled to start in September.
The governor also voiced his displeasure with the administration’s slack attitude regarding contracts for government projects given to well-known state officials, including the housing complexes at Izo Autonomous Community in Ishielu Local Administration Area. He gave the Housing Commissioner an order to make sure the houses got painted right away.
Governor Nwifuru urged the state’s citizens to report any government projects that are being delayed by contractors. He made it clear that anyone opposing his administration is also acting against the interests of the people of Ebonyi State. The governor emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in all government projects to ensure the efficient delivery of services to the citizens.
