The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Zamfara, Hon. Kabiru Garba, has clarified that , despite inquiries about who leads the ADC in Zamfara, he remains the Chairman of the ADC in Zamfara State.
The Chairman, who made this statement during a press conference held on Sunday in Gusau, emphasized that there is a distinction between the ADC and the coalition movement. While the ADC remains the party structure, the coalition is a movement that intensifies solidarity for the party.
He noted that different coalition movements may emerge in support of the ADC, but the party remains the platform through which people who wish to contest must register.
“No matter your personality and status, if you want to identify with the ADC, you have to come through us to get registered and also work in tandem with the party’s constitution and guidelines.”
“We don’t bother much about people joining the ADC via social media because the normal procedure for joining the party is known to every party member, and such procedures must not be compromised.”
He said that soon, within the week, the state working committee of the party is going to meet with the chairmen of the 14 local governments to develop modalities for the continued registration of interested members.
