Prof Bashir Garba has assumed office as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
He takes over from his immediate predecessor Professor Muhammad Lawal Bilbis.
Few weeks back the Chairman of the Governing Council of the University who doubled as the Pro-Chancellor Prof. Attahiru Jega announced Prof. Bahsir Garba as the substantive Vice Chancellor after passing through rigorous selection process.
Prof. Lawal Muhammad Bilbis the immediate past Vice Chancellor had since the assumption of office of the new Vice Chancellor handed over the mantle of leadership of the University to an acting Vice Chancellor.
