Kano State government has confirmed that it has received the court order on the dissolution of the Emirate councils on Monday the 27th of May 2023.
Barr. Haruna Isah Dederi the State Commissioner for Justice stated that it was after the whole idea of dethroning the four Emirs and the appointment of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was executed before the court order was served on the state.
It could be recalled that Aminu Babbar Sarkin Dawaki approached the Federal High Court, Kano where it issued an order directing parties to maintain the status quo pending determination of the substantive matter before it.
“This issue of court order people have raised it was today (Monday) the 27th of May 2024 that court officials brought and served the state government with the order”.
“Since it was today we received the order, let’s await and see the reaction of the court when we file our own process”.
It could be recalled that the dethroned Emir of Kano was notified of his dethronement while he was away for a familiarization visit in one of the states in the South West.
He returned to Kano after Emir Sanusi was eventually appointed as the new Emir of Kano.
