Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara has declared a state of emergency in education because Zamfara State ranks at the bottom in all aspects of education.
The Governor stated this during a courtesy visit to the management of the Universal Basic Education Commission at its corporate headquarters in Abuja.
The Governor said, “During our meeting, I conveyed the Zamfara State government’s appreciation for all the assistance the commission has provided in our efforts to overhaul the educational system in our state.”
“I assured the commission that my administration would utilize every kobo received from UBEC with accountability and transparency, and our records would be open for scrutiny.
My government is always ready to participate in any program requiring us to contribute counterpart funds; we have the funds available and are prepared to commit.”
