When fully operational, the Zeberced Group-developed Abuja Industrial Park is expected to provide 40,000 employment and boost Nigeria’s economy, according to Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike.
During his visit to the site on Wednesday, Mr. Wike made this statement about the Idu Industrial Zone in Abuja.
The minister pledged to personally advise President Bola Tinubu on his observations after becoming clearly enthused by the degree of progress at the ark , emphasizing the potential for the industrial park to attract both local and foreign investors. He also commended the Zeberced Group for their commitment to creating sustainable economic opportunities in Nigeria.
Referring to the project as “mind-boggling,” Mr. Wike expressed optimism that it will strengthen the nation’s economy and create jobs for the countless youths in the Federal Capital Territory . He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in driving economic growth and development in the country. Additionally, he encouraged other private sector organizations to follow the example set by the Zeberced Group in investing in Nigeria’s industrial sector.
In his opinion, this is something that has never happened in the entire nation. This is what I’ve never seen before. Although others have been conceptualizing industrial parks, I think this is a wonderland, and we applaud them for that,” the speaker stated.
He continued by saying that because there would be a steady supply of electricity, the project, which had been given permission to operate as a free zone, would draw in a lot of enterprises.
The company’s dedication to finishing the project and its choice to widen the park’s entrance road were both praised by the minister.
He guaranteed that the FCT Administration would continue to fund the road project in order to see it through to completion.
The road project, according to Adil Kurt, will create over 40,000 direct jobs in Idu District. The company’s Managing Director believes this investment is crucial for the growth of the economy. He believes that no government will not support such investments, and that the entire Idu area will benefit from this development. He urges governments to provide the necessary support for this project. The Managing Director also emphasized the positive impact the road project will have on local businesses and communities in the area. He stressed the importance of infrastructure development in driving economic growth and job creation.
Mr. Wike also gave the Zeberced Group praise for continuing to deliver the project at an excellent level.
He gave special recognition to the enterprise for labeling as made in Nigeria all products manufactured at the park, such as sandwich insulation roofing sheets and polypropylene pipes.
Once a nice and high-quality output is created, people will purchase it, including outsiders. Quality is important to us, and we are grateful that there are some businesses that are dedicated to ensuring that their products are made in Nigeria, stated Mr. Wike.
The minister demanded more funding for domestic producers while guaranteeing sufficient security.
Previously, Mr. Kurt stated that the 250-hectare park now has 208 workshops and is being developed as a free zone to attract more investors and boost local production. Additionally, he emphasized the need for continuous government support to sustain the growth of the industrial park.
He added that among other things, small and medium-sized businesses were intended to be supported by the park.
Precast concrete, polypropylene and plastic pipes, sandwich insulation roofing sheets, and other products were already being produced in the park. The project will make a major contribution to the expansion and improvement of the country’s economy,” he continued , highlighting the potential for job creation and increased exports. The industrial park is expected to play a crucial role in diversifying the country’s economy and reducing its reliance on imports.
