A heavy wind that accompanied the more than two hours of rain has resulted in the destruction of various houses in Samunka area of Gusau the state capital.
Findings by this medium established that over thirty houses at Samunka were directly affected and while some houses had their roofing zincs blown up, others had the building structures completely collapsing.
Wind disaster has been experienced by the residents of the Samunaka area for years and that may be as a result of the fact that the area is opened to easy wind blow due to lack of adequate trees planted to prevent instances of wind disaster.
Other areas affected by the same disaster in Gusau include Barakallahu, part of Damba and Samaru extension.
