People Democratic Party has cautioned Governor Bello Matawalle to either step down his intention to defect to the APC or risk losing his seat as executive Governor of Zamfara State.
The National Publicity Secretary of the Party Kola Ologbondiyan declared this while addressing Press Conference in Abuja on Tuesday.
“The Peoples Democratic Party PDP is watching development in Zamfara State and its concern report by the state Governor Bello Matawalle to cross over to the All Progressive Congress”
The PDP categorically cautioned the Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle to knows that his plans amount to a decision to vacate office as no law allows him to cross over to any other party with the Governorship mandate statutorily given to the PDP through the ballot box as already established by the provision of the 1999 constitution 1999 as amended and standing judgement of the supreme court”.
The PDP has also cautioned members of the National Assembly as well as members of the State House of Assembly not to allow themselves to be pushed into losing their seat as the provision of the constitution is very clear in banning lawmakers from cross carpeting”.
Meanwhile, the national working committee has approved the dissolution of the state executive caretaker committee of the PDP the decision is in line with the provision of section 39 (2) (b) of the party constitution
