A Four day training workshop for system strengthening and capacity building of the management staff, Electoral and assistant Electoral Officers of the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission ZASIEC across the fourteen local government areas of the state commences on Tuesday the 10th September 2024.
It is taking place at the conference hall of Taula Apartment in Gusau the state capital of Zamfara according to official Spokesperson of the commission Bello Musan Sidi Magami.
The Secretary to Zamfara State government declared the training session opened.
Malam Abubakar M.Nakwada Gusau described the training as a step forward toward conducting a free, fair and transparent local government councils election in zamfara state.
The SSG who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Cabinet Affairs Dr. lawal Husain said the Training Workshop which was organized by the state Independent Electoral Commission was aimed at serving as a moral booster to electoral officers of the commission for the smooth conduct of the forthcoming local government elections in the state.
He therefore, assured the state government redness in supporting the commission to discharging its mandate in the most fulfilled way
In his remarks, the State Commissioner ministry for local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engineer Ahmad Garban Yandi commended ZASIEC for organizing the training workshop which according to him, would assist positively in restraining rooms for unnecessary complaint, especially from the opposition political parties.
Engineer Garban Yandi, said his Ministry will do everything possible in supporting the commission to conduct smooth elections exercise.
In a keynote address, the Executive Chairman zamfara state Independent Electoral Commission ZASIEC Alhaji Sani Ibrahim Ruwan Doruwa, said the idea behind organizing the training workshop was in line with Commission’s preparation ahead of the forthcoming local Government councils Elections in the state.
The Chairman who was represented by the Commission’s Permanent commissioner inch age of Finance Alhaji Bashir Iliyasu Tsafe ,use the occasion to call on the state Government to support the Commission with all the necessary logistics required for the successful conduct of the elections.
