Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara has stated that if Governor Bello Matawalle picks the APC ticket for the governorship in 2027, he is certain that history will repeat itself.
The Governor, who spoke to Channels TV Politics Today, stated, “I am not a desperate politician. I am praying to God that Bello Matawalle contests for the governorship seat under the APC in 2027, and let’s see history repeat itself.”
Dauda Lawal mentioned that he became the Governor of Zamfara when all the former governors of Zamfara, including Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura, were in the APC, and that it was by the will of God that it happened.
In the interview, the Governor insisted that he is a card-carrying member of the PDP and had no intention of joining any other party.
He also stated, “I’m a friend of President Tinubu. I have an excellent relationship with him. I don’t have any issue with him; it’s just that we are from two different parties
