On behalf of the staff and management of Thunder Blowers Multimedia Services we congratulate Zamfara people for achieving significant milestone in the journey of Zamfara as a state.
Zamfara is (28) years old today the 1st day of October 2024 and our journey as people living within the state is characterized by stories that are full of emotions.
It is our candid opinion and the views of the majority of concerned Zamfara people that we are not where we are supposed to be in terms of anticipated development.
The state has lost its historical glory in terms of agriculture, education, road infrastructures, health care service delivery as well as other socio-economic parameters of Development.
The greatest of all it’s social crisis is the armed banditry problem which almost brought the state to it’s knees.
Zamfara has become popular in the global space because of the tragedy of armed bandit activities which no doubt threatened the sovereign powers of the country.
The state in the views of many lost it all because of the poor foundation it has since the first civilian administration of Sen. Ahmad Sani Yarima.
Many believed that Sen. Yarima Sani deliberately ignored the ideal of genuine development in building the state and instead emphasized more on welfare and human empowerment.
Though Yarima’s approach to governance has been a subject of debate, many believed that the refusal of the subsequent governments that came after Sen. Yarima to maintain continuity in his policies and programmes remain the basis of the state backwardness.
When compared with other states created alongside Zamfara one may not bother to argue that Zamfara is systemically backward in all aspects of development.
Gombe for instance, is per ahead of Zamfara in terms of every aspect of development, same thing with Nasarawa and Ekiti State.
The effects of politics have done worse than good to us as a state, and it seems the political class are not bothered about our condition simply because they have accumulated more than enough.
Our agricultural development is at the backward stage, infrastructures at the stage of comatose, in education we always take the least, health care services not fully functional, while our public service is in a state of shamble.
All we Master is the art of politics and political hypocrisy, the politics of how to destroy one another, the politics of bitterness and politics of rancor and chaos.
Our traditional institutions have been turn to mere umbrella of shadow since their voices and opinions do not matter much to those in position of authorities.
Unless these narratives have been changed and the key principal players retracted to doing the right thing, Zamfara will continue to be shadowed in crises.
It is a wake up call for all the stakeholders to come together and strengthen Zamfara project beyond the stage we are, since we all believe that we are not where we are supposed to be as a state.
If we continue to allow the Zamfara project in the hand of these crop of politicians, we will be going nowhere.
Majority of them not all, do not understand the ideal of state building may be due to their limitation in terms of education, and they opted to be blindfolded in listening to an alternative voice outside the mainstream simply because of “self-centered ego” and “political arrogance”.
May Allah save Zamfara state.
