The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress in Zamfara, Kabiru Garba Gusau, has denied a story published by Punch Newspaper claiming that the party in Zamfara has no issue with Atiku taking over its affairs. The Chairman, while reacting to the story by Punch, insisted that there was never a time when he granted an interview to any news media making such a statement.
“I was never interviewed by Punch reporters either here in Zamfara or anywhere else where I mentioned that the party has no issue with Atiku taking over its affairs,” he stated.
“The story is both false and a concoction by some mischief-makers for the attainment of their desired political goals,” the Chairman further stated.
He said the party is a neutral platform for all to join, and when the time comes, it’s the people who will decide the final fate of the aspirants.
He warned journalists to always verify their stories and stop carelessly attributing statements not made by people, in order to avoid creating unnecessary tension and confusion.
He said the party respects Wazirin Adamawa as one of its critical influencers and will continue to accord him the respect he deserves as a leader in the party.
