The Chairman of All Progressive Congress in Gusau Alh Abubakar Tijjani Dan-Ayya has accused the sixteen executive members of the APC Galadima ward Gusau of suspending the party Chairman of the state Tukur Umar Danfulani in total violation of the constitution of the party.
The Chairman who stated this at an emergency meeting with the party supporters in Galadima ward of Gusau insisted that the action instituted by the sixteen executive members of the party is a clear demonstration of their ignorance of APC Constitution and the law.
“The action of those who alleged to have suspended the state APC Chairman was done out of their ignorance of the constitution of the party”.
He said state party Chairman cannot be suspended as a member of the party without inviting him for interaction and questioning.
“A petition is supposed to be forwarded to the Local Government Executive council with allegations that are considered total violation of the party constitution.
The local government executives according to him will then set up a committee to invite the party Chairman for interrogation before the decision of the committee is communicated to the appropriate organs of the party for action”.
He stated that as executives of the party at Gusau local government, no one has ever reported the state party Chairman over wrongdoing from Galadima ward.
He further insisted that since there are rules guiding the operation of the party, the aggrieved members ought to have followed the appropriate channels of lodging a grievance by way of petition for the party at the local government level to act accordingly.
He said at the level of local government they have distances themselves from the action of these group of people.
“What they are supposed to do ordinarily is to file a petition, channel it to the local government executives for them to invite the Chairman for interrogation and that since that is not done the party at the level of Gusau will never support them”
He stated that a committee will be constituted to look into their action and recommend appropriate sanction to be enforced on them.
The constitution of the APC provides that before a sanction is enforced on anyone coming from Galadima ward, members of the state executives from Galadima ward, the elders, people like former Deputy Governor Hassan Nasiha, former Speaker Sanusi Garba Rikiji and other stakeholders who are from the ward need to be consulted for coordination”.
