The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Zamfara has announced the suspension of the Federal Lawmaker representing Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji from the party.
In a letter jointly signed by the State Chairman Tukur Umar Danfulani and party state Secretary Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima insisted that the suspension of the lawmaker followed the recommendations of the report of the committee on anti-party set up in the aftermath of the 2023 general elections.
The letter stated that the findings of the committee which was submitted to the state party headquarters since 15th July 2023 has finger-pointed Mr. Aminu Sani Jaji as someone who participated in the anti-party during the 2023 election.
“Suspension of Mr. Aminu Jaji followed the recommendation of the state disciplinary committee and subsequently ratified by the state executive council of the party in the state.
The letter further stated that the seven – man disciplinary committee recommended for his suspension based on his deliberate refusal of the lawmaker to appear before the committee despite several invitation letters extended to him.
It could be recalled that the on Thursday the 16th of May 2024, some executive members of APC from Galadima Ward of Gusau local government had forwarded a letter of suspension of the state APC Chairman Mr. Tukur Umar Danfulani to the National Headquarters of the party.
Allegations of division and lack of concern over party matters at the ward level among other things were cited as the reasons for his suspension from the party.
The decision was perfected by the sixteen out of the twenty-seven executive members of the APC in Galadima ward.
The Gusau local government executives as well state executive council of the party raised objection to the suspension move, citing procedural error and violation of the APC constitution.
