The factional chairman of the caretaker committee of All Progressive Congress in Zamfara Lawal M. Liman has described the comment credited to Zamfara former civilian Governor Sen. Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura asking people to either get their APC membership revalidated or loss the chances of losing the right to participate in the 2023 elections as demeaning to the effort of regaining the loss glory of the party in the state.
Liman who made the statement during a media briefing at the factional secretariat of the party in Gusau on Monday, said as per as their position is concern the initial membership card issued to the members of the party during the last exercise remains valid and called on all the members of the APC who had earlier registered to stay away from this new exercise championed by Hassan Nasiha led caretaker committee of the party.
He alleged that, Sen. Yarima is making such utterances mainly to cause confusion for the party, noting that it is when he creates the confusion, he would woe the heart of the Governor to be releasing funds to him.
He noted that their factional leaders of the APC led by Abdulazeez Yari Abubakar are making concerted effort to reached an agreement with the Governor on the initial request of sharing political and party appointments based on 5050 ratios so that normalcy can be restored in the party.
He expressed hope that the ongoing dialogue shall succeed and the party would reunite again.
