The Auditor General of Zamfata state was among those attacked by some suspected armed bandits along Gusau-Funtua highway on Sunday.
He was attacked alongside the state coordinator of Revenue mobilization Allocation and Physical Commission Alh Bashir Abara Gummi, a legal practitioner from the state Ministry of Justice as well as other staff of the state House of assembly.
One of the staff of the state House of assembly Aliyu Murhu Gummi who was driving the Toyota Hills Van was fired a shot on his eye.
The attack on the auditor general was the third in series of attacks launched against the commuters playing the highway.
A source explained when the Auditor General escaped into the bush he then called the Speaker to inform him of their tragedy.
He said the Speaker after mobilized soldiers to rescue them from their hideout.
The Auditor General alongside those attacked were on their way to Abuja for an official engagement when they were trapped by the tragedy.
