Residents of Hayin Alhaji Community in Tsafe Local Government area of Zamfara State had staged a peaceful protest over appointment of a new District Head.
The protestors mobilzed in hundreds and moved round with locally made placards to demonstrate to the whole world that, they are against the choice of Sulaiman Aminu Abdullahi as the new district head of Hayin Alhaji demanding that Murtala Muhammad Nasarawa who was earlier announced at Zamfara Radio be considered.
They called on Governor Matawalle to in the interest of peace give them Murtala Muhammad Nasrawa as their choice noting that, some politicians are taking advantage of their political positions to cause serious crises in Hayin Alhaji.
In a related development, this medium reliably gathered that, the State Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle has earlier issued an approval for the appointment of Sulaiman Aminu Abdullahi but his name was allegedly substituted with one Muratala Muhammad Nasarawa by the Director of Chieftaincy Matters.
It was also reliably gathered that the action of the Director of Chieftaincy was seen as de-meaning hence the Special Adviser to the Governor on Chieftaincy Matters Yusuf Zugu had since Monday called for an emergency meeting of stakeholders where the subtituted announcement was issued by same Zamfara Radio.
All effort to reach out to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Chieftaincy Matters to comment on the protest failed hence his telephone lines have been off.
