ZAMFARA EMERGES SECOND BEST IN THE NATIONAL GIFTED EXAMINATION

Zamfara state has emerged as the second best state in the National Gifted Examination conducted among the selected students across the country.

According to the statement, it has become second after Anambra state which emerged as the overall best.

The exams according to the Public Relations Officer of Zamfara Universal Basic Education Board Ibrahim Musa Maizare is conducted by the National Examination Council (NECO) in collaboration with the state Universal Basic Education Boards across the country.

According to Maizare, successful students are usually sponsored by the Federal government of Nigeria to pursue their secondary school education at Federal Government Academy Suleja, Niger State.

He said Zamfara state government led by Governor Dauda Lawal has sponsored (100) pupils for the gifted examination out if which (30) amongst them successfully passed the prescribed examination.

He added that Anabmra became first after scoring (32) just a slight difference of (2) candidates with Zamfara state.

The performance places Zamfara as the second best in the country and number one best in the entire Northern Nigeria.

Chairman of ZSUBEB Associate Professor Nasiru Garba Anka attributed the successes recorded by Zamfara state to the commitment and determination of the Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration in ensuring the successful reforms in education.

He argued that the effective collaboration between his board and the state government has manifested into the rapid reforms people are witnessing both in the ZSUBEB and education sector as a whole in Zamfara state.
