Former Commissioner for Environment and Solid Minerals in Zamfara State and former Chairman forum of Commissioners Mukhtar Muhammad Lugga has challenged the State Commissioner of Finance Rabiu Garba to always check his records clearly on matters related to financial transactions of the government before going to the media to blow lies against individuals.

Mukhtar Lugga stated this while reacting to the recent statement made by the Finance Commissioner that, all the former Commissioners of Abdulazeez Yari except Mukhtar Shehu Idris have refused to pay their 2 million naira cost of the vehicles auctioned for them by the previous government.

He said as per he knows him self and several others including Bello Dankande Gamji the immediate past Commissioner for Local Government a d Chieftaincy Affairs which he specifically accused of delibrate refusal to pay the two million naira have paid and revisits were fully to all of them as evidences would be provided when requested.

He said he knows there are some of his colleagues who have not paid their own money because they have some pending transactions to reconcile with the government.

” People like Hajiya Balkisu Bungudu the former Commissioner for Women Affairs was a retired Civil Servant whose benefit is yet to be settled by the government. I know of Ahmad Maradun former Commissioner for Science and immediate past Chairman of Maradun he has not been paid his benefit and he is still in court with the government over his unceremonious removal from office as Council Chairman. These reasons frustrated their courage of settling their debt till government reconcile with them” Lugga added.

” I also know of Danjari Kwatarkwashi he was a retired Permanent Secretary in the state service and he still have some transaction related to his benefit he has to reconcile with the government”.

Lugga called on the Commissioner to as a matter of developing Zamfara state concentrate on governance not mischief making noting that they have already serve their state in various capacities and if they cannot be thanked they should be let alone.

He demanded for retraction of that “all inclusive statement” made by the Commissioner or else they take legal action noting that it is an act of mischief makinh for the Commissioner to make that generic statement without verifying his facts.
