A former lawmaker from Zurmi local government Hon. Saleh Zurmi has asked the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara to refund him his N1.5 Million paid for the purchase of form of expression of interest.
Mr. Sale who intended to contest for the post of council Chairman of Zurmi said the party was very unfair to him for refusing to issue him a nomination form free of charge since he is a cripple and the convention by the party is always that women and people with special needs are allocated nomination forms free of charge while they pays for the expression of interest form.
Saleh in a viral video footage insisted that he has made a lodgment of the sum of N1.5 Million naira to the JAIZ Bank account of the party and on arrival at the headquarters of the party in Gusau he was denied nomination form on the basis that he has to pay additional N2.5M as 50% cost of the nomination form.
He insisted that though he made attempt to make the payment via a POS because it was on the weekend that could not be possible because the party has locked its account to a point that one cannot make lodgment anymore as at the time he was trying to perfect the transfer.
He noted that after several appeals for the party officials in Zamfara to give him the form on an arrangement to make lodgment on Monday the party refused.
While insisting that he was among the pioneering members of the PDP who has never defected to any party since the return of democracy in 1999 explained that the model of consensus applied by the PDP translates to manifestation of injustice.
He made reference to the nomination of council Chairmen for Bukkuyum , Zurmi and Shinkafi to buttress his argument and call for the party to revisit it’s decisions before it is late.
