Forum of block makers in Zamfara have cried to Governor Dauda Lawql for intervention as contractors working in Zamfara refuses to patronize them.
Chairman of the Association Mubarak Lawal in an interview lamented that contractors handling various projects awarded to them by Governor Dauda Lawql administration decided to produce their own blocks instead of picking from them as part of the combined strategy to further strengthen them economically.
He noted that, except one contractor Nura Surajo who was awarded the contract for the election of perimeter fence for the Federal University Gusau, the majority of the contractors do not recognized doing business with members of his forum
He noted that the essence of contract is to extend the mutual benefits to other stakeholders noting that it’s demeaning for contractor handling millions of Naira project to descend too low to constructing blocks which is the least of all the ingredients of contract.
He noted that they have already written to the Governor to come to their aide and talk to the contractors to henceforth carry them along in executing their contracts.
He also said they have a grand plan to extend same initiative to government agencies such as NG-Cares, Agile program and rest so that mutual partnership can be extended.
