Counsel to Engr. Ibrahim Shehu Gusau and Hafiz Muhammad Barr. Ibrahim Ali said the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dauda Lawal or any other party in the suite recently determined by the Zamfara State Federal High Court Gusau have not yet filed any appeal against the judgment delivered.
Barr. Ali, who was reacting to the proceeding of the Sokoto Court of Appeal on Friday where matter related to the first judgment came up insisted that, they were not yet served with the notice of Appeal by either the PDP or any party joined in the matter.
He insisted that the appeal that was heard on Friday the 18th of November 2022 was the one involving the first governorship primary election, which was conducted on the 25th of May 2022.
On the rumour making round the public that Engr. Ibrahim Shehu is undergoing reconciliation with Dr. Dauda Lawal and PDP, Barr. Ibrahim Ali insisted that, to the best of his knowledge there is no any reconciliation going on with regard to the matter hence he is yet to receive any communication from his clients to that effect.
It could be recalled that Justice Aminu Bappa in a judgment delivered on the 8th of November 2022 nullified the second governorship primaries which produced Dr. Dauda Lawal as the winner of the election on the ground of non compliance with the provision of section 82(1) of the electoral act 2022 as amended.
The court ordered that the PDP would not field any Governorship candidate in the forthcoming 2023 election.
