A Civil society advocate and Executive Director of an NGO FUPEL Bachiri Sarkin Fulani has advised the state and federal government to look in to the possibility of leasing out Dansadau Forest to the foreign investors who may initiate modern system of agriculture to boost food security.

Bachiri Fulani who stated this during a TV show programme of Thunder Blowers Dawache Kazo said, if the forest is leased to the foreign investors, they would bring capital and innovation in the state agricultural system as well as create job opportunities to the teeming displaced farmers along the forest.

He said though it is a long-term plan, but its impact would be visibly seen eventually, especially that the vast land would be deforested, and more access roads would be widely constructed to allow room for free movement of security agencies during the time of operation.

He also called on the federal government to consider the option of constructing military, police and Civil Defense barracks along Gusau-Sokoto road, especially in between Lambar Bakura and Bimasa so that the area can be secured anytime there need for emergency response by the security agencies.

Bachiri also called for the immediate revival of the Bokolori irrigation project so that farming activities can be enhanced and the area can be made busy to create job opportunities for the people around the area.
