ZAMFARA NSCDC COMMENCES RETRAINING OF (50) PRIVATE SECURITY GUARDS

The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Zamfara State Command, Sani Mustapha has commenced the retraining of the first batch of the private Guard Companies in Zamfara State

The exercise is aimed at enhancing the professional capacity of the guards to enable them work in conformity with the reality of the time.

The training, according to the command’s public relations officer SC Ikor Oche, is taking place at the state Command Headquarters in Gusau.

He stressed further that regular training and retraining of private security guards may help in reducing the volume of crimes in the state.

At the official opening of the training, Commandant Sani Mustapha emphasized on the need for the retraining of the guards to enhance the professional experience and also boost their capacity on intelligent gathering.

He argued that, NSCDC is saddled with the core mandate of registering, training and supervision of the activities of all private guards companies operating in the country, citing section (3) of the 2003 and 2007 acts establishing the Corp to buttress his position.

He added that the training which begins on Tuesday will last for two weeks.

Mustapha warned people to always engage private security guards for their security management to avoid engaging quacks that may not add any value to the security management of their businesses and private residences.

According to the statement, a total of about fifty security personnel across the 34 registered guard Companies are to participate in the training initiated by the Corp.
