Zamfara State Police command in collaboration with the state peace and reconciliation committee have secured the unconditional release of ten (10) kidnapped victims recently abducted by suspected gunmen in Kaya community of Maradun local government.
Those released included three (3) men and seven (7) women who according to some reports were taken to Sububu forest by the abductors.
In a statement by Police Command Public Relations Officer SP Shehu Muhammad the release of the kidnapped victims followed the successes being recorded by the ongoing peace effort of Governor Bello Matawalle.
All the victims rescued accorsing to shehu have been debriefed by the police and later handed over to the Maradun local government Sole Administrator in order to reunite them with their respective families.
Shehu also said investigation on reasons for the abduction has commenced soonest.
