The Zamfara state police command has recovered 69 rustled cows from bandits when the police tactical operatives repelled bandits attack on communities of Tudun Masu village under a Karakkai District of Bungudu local government area of the state.
The state police commissioner CP. Ayuba N. Elkana stated this at a news conference said Police Tactical operatives led by DPO Bungudu Division responded to a distress call at Tudun Masu where large number of armed bandits stormed the village and rustled sixty nine (69) cows.
According to him, the out of 69 recovered rustled cows, 60 were identified by their rightful owners and handed over to them, while the remaining nine (9) have been transferred to the State Government committee for the recovery of stolen livestock for further action.
The commissioner called on people of the state to always reports any strange movement by some people in their domain to police for prompt action.
He stressed that attention would focus more on the execution of security plans for the forthcoming 2022.
“We can do more than as we did in 2021, especially in the areas of arrest of criminals, recovery of sophisticated weapons, minimizing attacks on villages and communities as well as near total stoppage of Kidnapping/Abduction of innocent people for ransom”, CP Said.
He explained that, necessary security arrangements have been put in place for peaceful Christmas and new year celebrations. ENDs
