Zamfara State poverty indicators have drastically dropped from 92 to 73% as contained in the poverty ranking released by the National Bureau of Statistics.
Special Adviser to Zamfara State Governor on Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster management and Social Welfare Development Faika Ahmad stated this during a TV show programme of Thunder Blowers Online TV “Tiryan Tiryan” on Saturday.
She said the development was achieved through concerted effort of her directorate and unending support they have been receiving from Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle.
She said her directorate has been proactive in ensuring quick response to humanitarian needs especially during disaster occurrence across all parts of the state.
She further said, arrangement has been on the top gear between her directorate and Save the Children for the commencement of cash transfer of 5,000 each to 28,000 beneficiaries across the state for a period of 4 months.
Faika further said, as against wrong insinuations, her directorate is performing its duties according to the international best practice where beneficiaries are drawn across board without considering their sex, ages religion, political affiliation or social background adding that her intervention has cut across all the fourteen local government areas of the state.
