Zamfara State Commissioner Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba received the state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr. Muhmuda Isah, and his entourage on a courtesy visit to the Police Command Headquarters in Gusau.
The REC informed the police commissioner that the visit was to strengthen the existing cordial relationship between the two federal agencies and to also appreciate the consistent support from the police in sustaining peace, particularly during election periods.
Dr. Isah stressed the importance of continued collaboration between the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies in achieving credible, free, and fair elections.
In his response, CP Maikaba appreciated the REC and his team for the visit and reaffirmed the commitment of the command to supporting the electoral umpire in delivering its constitutional mandate.
He assured that the Command would continue to provide the necessary security to safeguard electoral officers, materials, and the electorate before, during, and after the elections.
The visit ended with the exchange of goodwill messages, the presentation of souvenirs, and a group photograph.
