The Chairman of the Union of Communication Zamfara State chapter, Kabiru Garba Mukhtar Yamusamu has confirmed that, there are thirty of their members who were kidnapped along Lambar Tureta-Bakura highway on Saturday who are still in captivity.
Yamusamu who stated this when he featured in a Thunder Blowers TV show Tiryan-Tiryan on Monday confirmed that, fifty passengers were in the vehicle during the attack but stated that, twenty among them were able to escape to the bush.
He said the abducted members were in a convoy of three vehicles, but the one belonging to the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board which conveyed the fifty passengers was kidnapped.
He told the medium that, though the bride and groom were able to escape the attack, the entire members of the union of communication are in grief and sorrow over the reported incident.
He further said, two out of the thirty passengers were shot during the attack, while effort is being made to strengthen outreach with the kidnappers with a view to ensuring that the abductees are released unharmed.
They also thanked the general public for the prayers and goodwill throughout the mourning period.
