Members of the Zamfara State house of assembly had unanimously used their veto powers to order the sacking of the commandant of Zamfara State Road Traffic Agency (ZAROTA).
In its sitting on Thursday, the house spokesman Bello Madaro Kurya said the decision followed the adoption of the report of the committee that investigated allegations of financial improprieties against the commandant.
The statement further instructed the commandant fired to immediately hand over the affairs of the command to the most senior officer pending the appointment of a new substantive commandant by the state Governor.
According to Madaro Kurya, the decision was announced by the Speaker after a long session of debate and deliberations.
