Some suspected bandits armed with deadly weapons invaded Ewa community in Kaura Namoda local government area of Zamfara, kidnapping about (20) people and killing one.

Among the majority of those abducted are women and children according to the source.

A source told BBC Hausa service on Tuesday that the bandits came around 11:00pm, and started firing gunshots whch resulted to the killing of one old man and twenty others were Abducted.

The source also informed BBC Hausa service that, up until now, they did hear about the abducted victims noting that as at the time of granting the interview they were unable to speak to the authorities over the incident.

He added that, the Sunday attacked marked the number five attacks launched against the people of the community since when banditry incident started.

They called on the government to come to their aid to make them secured.

Zamfara state Commissioner for Information Mannir HaidaraKaura informed BBC Hausa service in a reaction that the state government is not officially aware of any armed bandit attacks along Dogon Kade area.

He stressed that the state government is working harder to ensure that it has brought to an end the lingering security crisis confronting the state.
