Zamfara State Government is funding over fifteen capital projects at Audu Gusau Polytechnic Talatar Mafara in less than three years since the inception of the Government of Bello Matawalle.

This is disclosed by the Rector of the College Dr. Sha’aya Shehu when the new Deputy Governor paid an unscheduled visit to the institution on Wednesday.

The rector said the management of the polytechnic is impressed with the level of intervention made by the Governor in ensuring rapid transformation of the college.

He however highlighted some challenges faced by the institution to include among others: demand for additional fencing of the additional land space of about one kilometer secured by Governor Bello Matawalle, provision of access road linking the school premises to staff Quarters, and provision of additional students’ hostels.

He also added that, the college is in the need of staff primary and secondary schools, and also additional facilities for the accreditation of some courses that were due for about five years now since 2017, among many other pressing issues.

Senator Hassan Nasiha in a response said the essence of the impromptu visit to the polytechnic is to avail himself the opportunity to understand the level of progress made so far and challenges faced by the college.

On the request by the management of the college, Sen. Nasiha gave his assurance that, the State government will do everything possible to see that the challenges faced by the college are being overcome.

According to the Director General Press Affairs to the Deputy Governor Babangida Umar Zurmi, the Deputy Governor was taken round some locations of the ongoing projects by the rectors before he came back to address the students and also had a meeting with the members of staff of the college.
