ZMSG SUSPENDS PAYMENT OF 580 PENSIONERS, SAVES 180 MILLION

Zamfara State Commissioner for Finance Rabiu Garba has declared that, the state ministry for finance has withheld the monthly pension of 580 pensioners who have failed to update their data verification forms issued by the State Ministry of Finance.



He made the declaration during the phone in programme of Radio Nigeria Pride FM on Sunday.


The Commissioner noted that even pensioners have to be clearly verified hence there is the need for their data and record to be updated .


He said based on the record of those verified, the state was able to saved money worth 180 million naira after the last payment of pensioners hence those who have failed to update their data could not be paid.

He said the Ministry has embarked on some reforms aimed at strengthening the payment of pension to the beneficiaries adding that soonest the state will be rationalize in terms of payment of pension to enable it meet world Bank standard.
