Zamfara State executive council has lifted the suspension of the payment of monthly allowances to prayer Imams and their deputies.
Council members in their decisions during a council meeting on Thursday also stated that effective from May 2025 the allowances are to be reviewed upward.
The council said, the decision is borne out of the recognition and respect Dauda Lawql administration has for religious institutions and their leaders.
The council also resolved and approved the sum of N696 million naira for the furnishing of the newly reconstructed Ministry for Women Affairs and some selected offices at the JB Yakubu Secretariat complex.
According to the council, the investment will enhance administrative efficiency and service delivery, particularly in areas concerning women and vulnerable groups.
