Zamfara State Ministry of Health has assured that it would soon unveil the cause of the mysterious illness which resulted to the death of some people in the state.
State Commissioner for Health Dr. Aisha M.Z Anka stated this during a press briefing held at Shagari Primary Health Care Center in Gusau.
The Commissioner noted that as soon the news of the outbreak of the disease was announced the state ministry for health took steps to ensure that the situation has been put under control.
She further noted that the Ministry has activated Emergency Operation Center (EOC) as well engaged the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC).
She noted that because of the early notice issued to the (NCDC), rapid response team was immediately deployed for Zamfara state for them to work in collaboration with the officials of the state ministry for health.
She noted further that the team has ensured that samples of blood, urine, stools and abdominal fluids were taken for laboratory examination.
According to the Spokesperson of the Ministry Bello Ibrahim Boko the state ministry for health has extended some hands of collaboration with the state ministry for environment where water and soil samples were taken to National Reference Laboratories in Lagos and Abuja for tests to be conducted
